About
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University. I am also certified in perinatal mental health. I received the bulk of my early clinical experience in the field of substance use, with a focus on those experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. This allowed me a significant range of experience working with those with severe mental health diagnoses, complex trauma, legal and behavioral issues as well as everyday challenges. Following this, I had the pleasure of being a clinical supervisor at a local mental health clinic, where I not only was able to continue to work clinically, but I was able to guide others in developing their therapeutic skills. After becoming a parent, myself, I recognized my passion for working with women, and their families, postpartum and I made the decision to start my own practice in 2019, specializing in this area.
I can honestly say that I believe in this work and showing up for my clients, as well as the clients of my staff, each time I step into the office. I believe in creating a therapeutic environment that is comfortable and allows you to feel like you’re talking to a real person. I believe in hard work and don’t put much stock in quick fixes. I believe in pushing myself to grow and be challenged by my clients, just as I challenge them. It is my goal to bring these beliefs to this practice and use this mindset to help others heal and move forward in their lives.
